You will know how to do the application process, which is the visa submission process, and it is really very easy.

Recently, I applied for a tourist visa for my family, and within two weeks, we got the visitor visa. His medical checkup was also done, so even after going through all the procedures, we received the visitor visa in two weeks. Many people have been asking me about the visitor visa, so I thought I would share that procedure with you guys.

I applied for a visitor visa for my parents, and now they are here with me in Australia. I want to share the procedure so that if you also want to apply for a visitor visa, you can do it easily.

Application Process for Visitor Visa:

Steps to Apply:

First of all, I will explain the application for the visitor visa. When applying for a visitor visa for two people as a family, you will need to make individual applications. I will show you how I did that application.

There is a column where you have to share whether this person is applying individually or if there is someone else with them. After indicating “yes” for the people accompanying them, you need to fill in the details of any other family members traveling with you.

The first thing you need to do is create your account on the application portal. A few days ago, someone asked me if I need to create a separate login for my parents’ visa application. I want to clarify that you can apply for the visa of any family member through your login.

So the first step is to create a login on the e-account, submit the application, and after submission, you will need to take the HAP ID for the medical checkup. When you get that HAP ID, you can go to any medical center in your city for the medical checkup. For example, if you are in Delhi, you will find a list of all the centers where medical checkups for immigration are done.

You have to call that medical center and book an appointment. If you are in Australia applying for your parents’ visa, you can call from here, or any family member can also call. We called the medical center from here and booked an appointment for my parents. They went and got their medical checkup done, and after the checkup, the report was sent to the immigration office. After that, the visa processing starts, and then you are finally granted the visa.

Visa Application Costs:

Now let’s talk about the cost of the visa application. The cost is 195 Australian dollars. For the medical checkup, it cost us 6300 Indian rupees for each parent.

Creating Your Login:

First, go to the website and create your login ID. Enter your user ID and password, and your e-account will be created. After that, you have to select “New Application” and then select “Visitor Visa” (Subclass 600).

When you log in and select the visa category, you will agree to the terms and conditions, indicating that you are applying and that the applicant is outside Australia. Then you can start the application process directly and fill in all the details. For my parents, I entered India as their location, and you will need to select the visa category as a tourist visa.

You will also mention the reason for visiting Australia; we entered “family visit.” If it’s an individual application, select “no,” and if it’s together, select “yes.” When you click “next,” you will see a page where you have to enter simple details like the applicant’s name, date of birth, passport number, passport issue date, expiry date, country, and proof of identity.

Required Documents for Visa Application:

Let’s talk about the documents required for the visa application. Since I applied for my parents, you need to fill out Form 956a if the applicant authorizes you to make the application. In this form, you will enter all your details and those of all the applicants.

Necessary Documents:

  1. Bank Statement: The second document we attached was our bank statement. We only attached our bank statement and did not include my parents’ bank statement, but you can attach either.
  2. Invitation Letter: The third document is an invitation letter addressed to the visa counselor (the Australian High Commissioner). You should write a letter stating your relationship with the applicant and why you are calling them.
  3. Identity Card: The fourth document we attached was the applicant’s identity card (Aadhar card), and the fifth document was a copy of the passport. You need to attach both the front and back copies of the passport. If the applicant has traveled before and there are stamps on the passport, you must attach all the pages with that stamping.
  4. Copy of Your Passport and Visa: The sixth document is a copy of your passport and visa. Lastly, you must attach a passport-sized photo of the person you are applying for. If the applicant has any medical history, mention it clearly in the application.

For instance, my father has undergone bypass surgery, so I mentioned all those details and what medications he is taking to avoid any issues during the application process and when he travels.

Health Examination:

During the health examination, they will check general health metrics like weight and height. If the applicant wears glasses, they should bring them along as they will check those. Additionally, a urine sample and a chest X-ray will be required, as there is no TB disease allowed in Australia.

Conclusion:

Have you seen how easy it is to apply for a tourist visa? If you submit all your documents properly, the visa grant process is quick. I received the visa in two weeks.
