My basic education was from government schools and colleges, and I obtained my bachelor’s degree from Lahore University of Management Sciences. To be honest, I didn’t have much status, but I got a scholarship. I majored in Economics and Mathematics and graduated with a GPA of around 3.6. After that, I applied for multiple scholarships, including Commonwealth and Fulbright, and then I also applied for Rasmus Mund. Alhamdulillah, I got into Rasmus Mund along with a couple of others. I preferred Rasmus Mund because it is prestigious and allows you to easily come to Europe and settle down.

Before going into the details about this scholarship, let’s discuss how much you receive for a two-year Master’s program. In general, I think it is very high. In Euros, it is about 49,000 Euros, which translates to around Rs. 1.5 crores for two years. Out of this, approximately 40 lakh is the tuition fee, and the remaining 1 crore 10 lakh is the stipend you receive.

In Pakistan, many people cannot afford these costs. Many messages I receive from people say they belong to a middle-class family and cannot provide a bank statement. Can you clarify whether a bank statement is required for this scholarship?

For the Rams Mund scholarship, no bank statement is required at the time of admission. If you receive the scholarship, they will send you letters, and then your bank statement is not needed. Also, your visa gets guaranteed because the European Union supports you, with almost a 100% visa success ratio.

In Rasmus Mund, no one binds you. For example, with Fulbright and Commonwealth, you have to return to your country and serve there. However, Rasmus Mund does not have this condition. If I graduate from France, I will get a work permit and can work there.

As for citizenship, you can get it after a certain period, usually between 5 to 10 years depending on the country. In France, you need a minimum of 5 years, and in Italy, 10 years.

If you come here to study, it is tough; you need to dedicate time to your studies. When they provide you with such financial support, you don’t have to worry about working. You receive around Rs. 3 lakh monthly as a stipend, which should cover your expenses without needing a part-time job.
